Homework at Barrack Heights Public School has been designed to:

- Help students develop self-motivating work patterns and routine
- Strengthen home and school bonds
- Support learning in the classroom

- Cooking – following a recipe, measuring ingredients, learning about healthy foods.
- Grow flowers/vegetables in your garden. Record their growth using photos or graphs.
- Board games – uno, scrabble, monopoly, dominos, chess just to name a few favourites!
- Collecting/sorting/creating using leaves, sticks, feathers, flowers, shells recycled materials such as bottle tops, keys, paper.
- Build using lego, blocks, magnetic blocks or recycled material (build a newspaper tower as tall as you can)!
- Investigate your family tree together.
- Go for a day trip – visit museums, University of Wollongong Discovery Centre, libraries, beaches, Minnamurra Rainforest, Coast walk.
- Learn a musical instrument
